1) The company is developing cardiovascular implants that avoid costly and life-threatening complications associated with implantation and follow-up diagnostic procedures, a need that is unmet by all current implants. The Dundee-based company is new (founded in mid 2010) but its technology/product development and market engagement is already very advanced, having acquired several £m’s worth of development assets and a large patent portfolio. The company raised seed funding in 2010/11 and wishes to appoint a NX Chair, and potentially a CEO, with strong medical device track records to strengthen the management team and assist with the company’s strategy for achieving venture funding.

2) A start up technology company that is focussed on Cloud computing and banking, has developed a product that is based on the concept of a Cloud based personal financial platform.  They are out of stealth mode and are already in deep conversation with major retail banks and their partners on how this best be adapted to their needs and taken forward. This area is a completely new market and the company has been filing patents in the area anticipating its growth. This company needs to strengthen its team and is seeking someone who can fulfil the CEO role in return for a substantial equity share of the company and who can lead and articulate to and realise this opportunity with the banks.

3) A company requires an individual to fill the management gap left by the recent death of the Managing Director of a small well-established Scottish software house, providing Accounting and Stock and Order Processing systems to over 1300 businesses and software developers, with more than 4,000 users in the U.K. and Ireland. The company's products are built around Sage Group's long-established TAS Books brand. The individual would assume the lead management role over the four staff and share ownership/investment in the Company is encouraged.

4) An exciting company that designs and develops consumer electronics for the energy efficient control of appliances is looking for a Sales and Marketing Manager. The ideal candidate will have experience in consumer electronics and in dealing primarily with utilities companies, but also retailers and distributors. In addition, involvement in public sector funding procurement is desirable. This role is paying sweat equity and is based remotely.
